We are proud to announce that the pioneering Central European consumer electronics retailer Alza.CZ a.s. has chosen the Radware Bot Manager to protect its online sales portal from bot attacks. This follows a comprehensive and successful evaluation of our solution during the peak holiday shopping season. Alza was not satisfied with the performance of their previously used bot management solution, which drove their decision to switch to Radware Bot Manager.

With over 12 million online transactions every year, Alza had the challenging task of blocking malicious bots that carried out brute force log-in attacks, systematically scraped their online content, and caused infrastructure strain due to the intense bot activity they were confronting.

According to Daniel Padevet, Head of Alza’s Web & IT Operations team, “We onboarded Bot Manager in the midst of our peak season and saw immediate results/benefits. Our customers’ experiences are our top priority. By working with Radware, we are able to better secure and improve the shopping experience.”

The results were visible soon after Radware Bot Manager was implemented. Alza saw a 10 percent reduction in CPU usage in its servers, complete elimination of log-in attacks, and a big reduction in bots that were attempting to carrying out denial of inventory and scalping attacks. Anna Convery-Pelletier, Radware’s Chief Marketing Officer, stated that “We started working with Alza at the beginning of the holiday season, a time when any disruptions or failures would have drastic business consequences. This is also a time when bot traffic is often at its highest. We were able to successfully mitigate threats associated with bots and gain their trust when other companies failed.”

As consumers increasingly take to online shopping during the Covid-19 pandemic, e-commerce and other Web-based enterprises are experiencing growing volumes of bad bot traffic on their websites, mobile applications, and APIs. In 2019, bad bot traffic accounted for nearly a quarter of total internet traffic, a significant increase from the previous year.
